The Beginning !
I have set up this blog to cover my Journey through the Tour Divide route in June/July 2018 so that hopefully more people can view it- as long as I can access it of course!.
Some details for those of you not in the know - myself ( Chantal - Dairy farmer/ mum of three) and Mckayla are heading over to Banff in Canada and biking from there to Antelope Wells in New Mexico- which is just beside the border to Mexico. Why you may ask??? Well that's a hard one, I'm not entirely sure what processed me to say yes to this idea, I guess the thought of exploring new places overruled by normally sensible brain.
I am currently in the process of packing for this journey and ironing out the last minute details of which there seem to be many. I am looking forward to the point of being on the bike without those worries to think about.
While getting ready for this trip we have decided to support a charity, deciding which one was the hard part, we wanted fundraise for something that wasn't mainstream and already getting a lot of support, we also wanted something that involved kids and local community.
We have found that with the Wheelie Awesome Project- set up by the Lincoln University mountain bike Club.
If you would like to know more about this project or donate to this here is the link: https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/a-4500km-cycle-adventure
I hope you enjoy following our journey and feel free to invite other people along for the ride ( so to speak) as well.
Cheers Chantal
